1. Comprehensive Properties and Applications
DOTP exhibits excellent electrical resistance and heat stability. It can serve as a replacement for DOP in PVC plastic wire sheathing and is also used in the production of artificial leather films. Furthermore, DOTP demonstrates excellent compatibility and can be used as a plasticizer for acrylonitrile derivatives, polyvinyl butyral, nitrile rubber, nitrocellulose, etc. It also contributes to enhancing product hardness and deformability. It acts as a softening agent in products such as nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber, and EPDM rubber. Particularly in cable materials, it offers an effective plasticizing effect with low volatility. It is widely used in various products requiring heat resistance and high insulation, making it an ideal plasticizer for manufacturing heat-resistant 70°C cable materials and other PVC products where low volatility is essential.
2. Diverse Industrial Uses
DOTP is used in PVC automotive interior components, where it helps solve the problem of window fogging. It is also employed in high-quality lubricants or lubricant additives for high-end furniture, interior decorative paints, coatings, precision instruments, nitro-varnish additives, paper softeners, biaxially oriented polyesteramide films, plastic film crafts, and plasma storage bags, among other applications.
3. Cold Resistance
Due to its linear molecular structure, which is similar to DOS and DOA, DOTP also exhibits better cold resistance.
4. Electrical Properties and Migration Resistance
The volume resistivity of DOTP is 10-20 times higher than that of DOP, and it possesses excellent migration resistance.
5. Environmental Profile
As DOTP does not contain phthalate structures, it falls outside the scope of the 16 restricted phthalate plasticizers regulated in the European Union and other countries. Therefore, it is an excellent environmentally friendly plasticizer.
